Bookings
Services, when you are open, closed dates: and the one rule that keeps the diary honest.
Bookings let your agent take an appointment during the conversation, without anyone typing it up afterwards. They need the Agent plan. On Free the Bookings page is still there, but it shows an upgrade card instead of a diary.
Services
A service is the thing a customer books: a haircut, a table, a site visit. Each one has a name, a description and a price written however you like ("RM120", "from RM80", or nothing at all), plus three settings that decide what the agent can offer:
- Duration: how long it takes. This is what the customer is told.
- "Gap after (min)": quiet time held after each booking. It is your turnaround, not the customer's business, so it is kept separate from the duration.
- "How many at a time": how many can run at once. A one-chair salon sets 1. A restaurant sets its number of tables.
Anyone on your team can work the diary, but only owners can add or change services: a service is configuration in the same way your knowledge is.
When you are open
Each service has its own weekly grid of open hours. Turn on "Follows your opening hours" and it uses the hours from your Knowledge page instead, which is usually what you want.
If a service has no hours of its own and none to follow, it is not bookable at all. An empty week never means "always open": your agent will turn down every slot until you fill in one or the other.
Closed dates
Closed dates shut a stretch of the calendar whatever your hours say: public holidays, leave, a wedding on Saturday afternoon. Give each one a reason so the rest of your team knows why it is there.
Bookings made anywhere else
If you take a booking by phone, in person, or on a paper diary, add it on the Bookings page yourself. Your agent works out free slots from what it can see, so a booking that is not there does not exist as far as it is concerned: and it will happily book someone else into that slot.
Every booking is either confirmed or cancelled, and each one records whether your agent took it or a person did.
