A booking link is not a booking.
Nearly everything sold as a WhatsApp booking system is a form or a calendar that sends you an alert. The customer still has to leave the chat, and someone still has to confirm. The alternative is an agent that offers real slots and writes the booking without you.
Form or link, with alerts
A booking page you send people to. WhatsApp is the notification channel, not where booking happens.
An agent that books in the chat
It reads the request, offers real free slots, and writes the booking in the same conversation.
Where the difference shows
| Where the difference shows | Form or link, with alerts | An agent that books in the chat |
|---|---|---|
| Where the customer ends up | On a web form, having left the conversation. | In the conversation they were already in. |
| Drop-off | Every extra tap loses people, and a link opened at 11pm often is never returned to. | Nothing to open, so nothing to abandon. |
| "Ada slot Sabtu pagi tak?" | Answered by sending the link again. | Answered with the actual times that are free on Saturday morning. |
| Who confirms | You, eventually, once you see the alert. | Confirmed in the reply, then written to the diary. |
| Walk-ins and phone bookings | Often invisible to the tool, so the online calendar drifts from reality. | Must count against the same capacity, or the agent books over them. |
| Double-booking | Prevented by the form, if the calendar is the only way in. | Has to be prevented at the moment of writing, under a lock. |
| Questions around the booking | Unanswered. Parking, price, what to bring, whether you are open — all still come to you. | Answered in the same breath as the booking. |
| Setup | Define services and hours. | Define services and hours, and teach it the business around them. |
Which one is right for you
A form or link is enough if
Your customers already expect to book online, they arrive from a website or a bio link rather than from chat, and the questions around a booking are few. A booking page is cheaper and completely predictable.
You want an agent that books if
Your bookings arrive as WhatsApp messages in the customer's own words, at hours you are not working, mixed in with questions about price and availability. Sending a link back to those people is where you lose them.
Where aiBalas lands
aiBalas books inside the conversation, and the part we treat as non-negotiable is that it cannot double-book: every booking is written under a lock that re-checks availability before it confirms, and bookings your own staff enter by hand count against the same capacity — an owner's phone booking that never reaches the diary is exactly how an agent ends up booking over it. Bookings sync to Google Calendar, availability can follow your opening hours or a per-service grid, and anything large or unusual is handed to you rather than confirmed automatically.
Common questions
How do I know it will not double-book?
Ask what happens when two customers pick the same slot at the same second. The answer should involve a lock and a re-check inside the write, not "the calendar handles it" — a calendar read a moment earlier is exactly the race that causes double bookings.
What about bookings I take on the phone?
They have to go into the same diary, or the agent will book over them. Anything you enter yourself blocks the slot in aiBalas the same way an agent-made booking does.
Can it handle several staff or rooms?
Yes. Each service has its own availability and capacity, so a clinic with three practitioners or a restaurant with a fixed number of tables is booked against the right one rather than a single shared queue.
Does the customer get a confirmation?
In the conversation, immediately, which is the one place they will actually look. You are alerted too, on WhatsApp and by email.
